Martial Arts for Adults 🥋
Do we offer martial arts classes for adults? Absolutely—and it’s one of the most powerful programs we offer at Championship Martial Arts.
Our adult program is built on a traditional karate system called Shōrei-Ryū. This style is a well-rounded, composite system that blends techniques from multiple martial arts traditions. Training focuses on a balanced approach—about 50% hands and 50% feet—giving students practical, effective stand-up skills they can actually use.
While our program isn’t a ground-based system like jiu-jitsu, we do include takedowns and real-world applications. Stand-up martial arts and ground fighting are different skill sets, and our adult classes are designed to excel in practical, upright self-defense situations.
Real-World Self-Defense—Built In 💪
Self-defense isn’t an add-on or an optional class—it’s built directly into our curriculum, belt ranks, and daily training. As students progress, they learn how to confidently defend themselves against common real-life situations, including:
• Punches and kicks
• Wrist and lapel grabs
• Headlocks, chokes, and strangles
• Bear hugs and arm restraints
• Arm bars, hammer locks, and guillotine-style chokes
Everything is taught in a safe, structured, and progressive way, so students build confidence without feeling overwhelmed.
