Our Karate Classes for Kids
Let’s talk about our kids karate program at Championship Martial Arts — because this is one of the things we do best.
We offer multiple kids classes every day, which allows us to keep every class age-appropriate, skill-appropriate, and fun. Children can start training with us as young as 4 years old, which is the age where kids are developmentally ready to focus, listen, and safely train alongside others.
We’re often asked, “My child is three but very advanced — can they start?”
And while we love that enthusiasm, starting at age four is important. Our youngest group includes kids ages 4 to 6, and a four-year-old needs to be able to train comfortably next to a six-year-old. That structure helps keep classes safe, productive, and enjoyable for everyone.
As kids grow, they move into the next age group:

Ages 4–6

Ages 7 through early teens

Teen & Adult classes (with flexibility based on size, maturity, and confidence)
Within each age group, students are also separated by belt level. That means beginners learn the fundamentals they need, while more advanced students are challenged with new techniques and skills. A brand-new white belt shouldn’t be learning the same material as a green belt — and in our program, they don’t.
Every child starts with a strong foundation. As they progress, they’ll eventually be introduced to exciting elements like sparring, traditional weapons training such as nunchucks, and more advanced techniques — always at the right time and in a safe, supervised way.
Our goal is simple:
to help kids build confidence, focus, discipline, and self-belief — all while having fun and staying active.
